Get ready for another rad weekend in Baler! The 4th annual Bujangin Surf Longboard (BSL) competition is just around the corner, hitting the waves on May 3rd and 4th. It's going to be two days packed with good vibes, community spirit, and some stylish longboarding.

Since launching in April 2022, BSL has been all about bringing people together through the love of longboarding. It's a super inclusive, family-friendly event that encourages surfers of all ages and skill levels to paddle out and have a blast. We're talking about everyone from groms in the kids' category to seasoned riders up to 55 years old in the Royal Rumble! Now in its fourth year, BSL is a true staple in Baler, standing as the town's longest-running competition focused exclusively on the art of longboarding. The main goal? To make sure everyone sees how fun surfing is and to keep boosting Baler's rep as a top spot for summer longboarding in the North East.

So, what are the waves looking like for the event? The forecast for May 3rd and 4th seems promising for longboarding. We're looking at wave heights hanging comfortably below the one-meter mark. The swell will mainly be coming from the east with a consistent period, which usually means nice, clean lines rolling in – perfect for those classic longboard maneuvers. As for the wind, it appears it will be relatively light, especially during key times, which helps keep the wave faces smooth.

Tides will be doing their thing, with a couple of low tides and high tides each day. These tide swings, combined with the expected swell, should provide consistent conditions throughout the weekend for everyone to enjoy the water.
